LOW KOTUU SCHOOL.

Presentation to Teacher.

A very pleasant gathering took place in the Lower Otira School (Aickins) on Tuesday evening 17th inst. when the parents of the children attending the school and friends met, to bid farewell to the popular teacher Miss MTntosh who has had charge of the school for over three years. There was a representative gathering of the people of the district. The Chairman of the school committee MrW. Aitken presided. After a few rein irks by the chairman on the qualities of the guest of the evening as a teacher and a friend, he read a congratulatory address and presented Miss MTntosh with a gold bangle subscribed for by the residents of the Aickins, Jackson?, and other districts. Mr Eidsdale replied for Miss MTntosh. The scholars attending the school presented their teacher with a butter knife. Miss MTntosh before dispersing the school for the last time dispensed fruit and lollies to the children attending and to some others from other districts who happened to be visiting there. All were sorry to part with Miss MTntosh, and the good wishes of the people ef this district will follow her wherever she goes.
