THE EIGHTH CONTINGENT.
(PEE PEESS ASSOCIATION.)
Wellington This Day.
Testing candidates for enrolment in the Eight Contingent began this morning. There were 516 applications of whom 55 were returned troopers, end 20 members of mounted corps. The majority of remainder where men from the back blocks districts. The supply of recruits would be so much in excess of the number required that all the conditions of enrolment will be rigidly adhered to.
