Wblunoton This Day. Captain Boss of the Scottish Horse had an interview with the Premier yesterday on the question of raising reoroits in New Zealand. Seddon told him that be was prepared to send as many men as wanted, bat they must go as the New Zealand contingent.

Boss therefore decided to discontinue his recruiting mission. Major Andrew commanding the Sixth Contingent cables to the Premier that the contingent is all well, and suggests that there should be a New Zealand Brigade, the men of which should not weigh more than 10 stone. The officers and staff officers to be Now Zealanders, and the brigade to be commanded by a New Zealander. The Imperial Government should provide two pompoms, a transport, engineer signalling, scout, and field hospital, There is then a possibility of New Zealand maintaining its identity in the field, The number of Wellington applications for the Eight Contingent is 485, besides which about 100 have been referred tp their proper districts.
