THE ENGLISH CRICKETERS.

[per press association—copyright.]

Syd.-iby, Dec 20.

In the cricket match England v. Qoulburne, the latter made 190. Carew 43, Carr 33, and Gribbls 25 being the chiel scores.

Lilley took 2 wickets for 35, Gunn 6 for 62, Jones 10 for 49.

The Englishmen lost 6 wickets for 184, the chief scores being, M’Gahey 55, Hayward 24, Gunn (not out) 20. London, Dec 20. The Marylebone Committee approved of the proposal to widen the bowling crease one foot each way. They decided that it was undesirable that the wickets should be repaired artificially. The Captains’ decision in 1900 in regard to illegal bowling has done so much good that it is unnecessary to suggest drastic measures, but they hope that the Counties will decline to play doubtful bowlers.
