The Live Stock Report.
Mark Sprot and Co. report their sales at Arahura as follows:
On Tuesday 17th, we held the usual fortnightly sale of fat stock when 51 fat cattle. 300 fat sheep, and 200 fat limbs were yarded. ♦There was a full attendance of buyers, and good competition for all lines. Best bullocks fetched j£lo 10s; medium, £8 10; fat shorn ewes, 15s 9d; fat lambs, 15s 6d to 12 s. On the following day we held a special sale of store stock. The yarding consisted of 800 cattle and-,1500 sheep from Canterbury. Values all round showed a slight decline. 8 year
steers fetched £5 17s 6d; 2 year do, £4 13s; 2 year heifers £3 2s; mixed year* lings, 355. Sheep—two tooth wethers, 10s 6d; two tooth ewes, 10s 6d. Horses —Spring carters, £23; hacks, £lB 10a; 8 year unbroken colts, £23, £2O, £l9; light hacks, £8 15s.
