[per PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.]
Received this day, at 9 54 a.m. Sydney, This Day. The weather is fine but clpudy. A light shower fell lasftnight, but was net sufficient to lay the dust. Before the coin was spun, M'Laren proposed after acting on the toss in this match, that each side should alternately have the choice of innings in the next three matches without tossing. In the final match the captains to toss as customary. The idea was to make luck as equal as possible. After considering the Australians rejected the proposal.
