IMPROVING NELSON HARBOR.

(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION..) Nelsox, December 5.

The plans, prepared by Leslie H-. Reynolds for the improvement of Nelson Harbor, have boon approved by the GoY-efment and an order in Council has been gazetted. The Committee of the Nelson Chamber of Commerce discussed the question to-day, and resolved that in order to protect the traffic .tff the port and provide for possible increase the harbour improvements are urgently needed, and having regard to approval given by the Government to the scheme of Mr Reynolds the Committee are of opinion this scheme should be forthwith carried out. '

A statutory meeting was held to-night to consider a proposal to borrow £65,000 to carry out the work. The meeting was largely attended and was favorable to the proposal.
