[per press association.]
Auckland, December 5
Frank Dillingham, United x tatos Consul, writes: —"lam requested by Mrs. M' Kinley, widow of the late and lamented President M'Jlinley. to thank the press and people of New Zealand for tbeir lov-
iog notices, messages and resolutions of sympathy at the time of her husband s passing away. The evidence of universal sorrow evinced, and the memorial services held throughout your colony at that time touched her heart so keenly that she finds it impossible to convey to you iu suitable words her appreciation of the same. I am, however, requested to as3ure you that it is such messages as yours that have comforted her since her loving and devoted husband, who was his all, was taken from her."
