THE CAVERSHAM SEAT.
(per press association.)
Dunedin, December 3
W. Earnshaw, one of the candidates for the vacant Caversham seat, addressed the electors this evening. He announced himself as a supporter of measures instead of men. The candidate received a fair hearing, although there was considerable opposition. At his own request no vote of thanks or confidence was proposed. The meeting carried a motion of condolence with the widow of the late Mr Morrison on the motion of Mr Earnshaw.
