London, December 1. Canterbury mutton, 3id; Dunedin and Southland, 3£d ; North Island, 2|d. Canterbury lamb, 4 5-10 d; fair average is unchanged. Beef, unchanged.
These prices are official quotations furnished by the Frozen Meat Trade Association. Basis of quotations is sales of not less than 100 carcases of mutton or lamb, or 25 quarters of beef. All quotations for mutton are for fair average quality. Quotations for New Zealand lamb do not include sales of small lambs or heavies, or inferior quality.
All hides were withdrawn from sale in expectation of an advance.
New Zealand basils Is. Hemp is quiet: good to fair Auckland October and December shipment is £33.
Copper on spot is £59 2s fid ; three months, £57 2s 6d. Tin—Three months, £IOO. Silver—2s 3|d.
At the wool sales there is catalogued to date 52,335 bales. There has been sold 46,990. Continental buyers eagerly competed for the best wools at the highest rates.
