UNION COMPANY AGAIN.
(2*o the Editor.)
Sir, —Your remarks re sailing of the Wainui on her last trip were quite justified. It is wretched conduct on the part of the company to treat the passengers and cargo as they do. I am informed by one of the passengers that the Wainui had lost through bad weather twelve hours between Nelson and Westport; therefore, the boat had not sufficient time left to keep up with the time-table to come to Oreymouth. It was not our bad bar, for if the boat had come on, after she had discharged her cargo in Westport, she could have worked the bar on the morning's tide. The consequence was, that the passengers and cargo were dumped out at Westport and left to shift as best they could, until the Union Go. had another boat to bring them to their destination, at a cost to each passenger, which cannot be less than 30s to £2, added to their other expenses. Without considering the damage there is to the cargo, there is the aversion people will have in coming to this port in such a way. Yours Respectfully,—
A Suffering Tbadkk,
