RAILWAY SLEEPER CUTTERS.

Mr Guinness’ action in the Matter,

(our OWN CORRESPONDENT.)

Wellington, This Day,

Since Mr Guinness’ return to Wellington, he has had several interviews with the Premier and Minister of Railways as to the manner in which sleeper cutters in the Grey District have been treated by the Railway Department in regard to orders for sleepers. The result is that Mr Felton, Railway Store Manager, is a fellow-passenger with Mr Guinness per Wainui to the Coast, to interview the sleeper cutters, and accept offers for a supply of as many sleepers as they can supply.

Your member has seen Mr Barrow’s letters to the Star re your member’s action, and Mr Guinness intends to deal with Mr Barrow’s communication on his return to Greymoutb.
