The Telegraph Department has been advised of two shocks of, earthquake at Clicviot on Saturday evening. Theic were three others before daylight yesterday morning, tlxe Last being at 4 50, since which all is quiet up to 8 am. to-day. CiisisTCHUceh, This Day.
"Welcome rain fell at Cheviot last night, and a more cheerful tone is evident throughout the settlement. There slight tremors last night, while severe shocks were felt on Saturday night and Sunday morning. The coach leaving Cheviot this morning was again crowded with women and children.
