Earthquake Shock. Melbourne, November 20. A severe earthquake shock was felt at Moondarra, near Walhalla. Several barns and sheds were thrown down. Condemned to Death. Sydney, November 20. The State Assembly rejected the proposal to fix minimum wage for Government employees at seven shillings a day. Coal in Sydney Harbor. . Received this day at 9 58 a.m. Sydney, This Day. A seam of coal has been struck in Sydney Harbour at a depth of 2,880 feet. Australia and Fiji. Melbourne, This Day. Berkeley of Fiji had a lengthy interview with Barton. It was of a private character. Money Lender’s Bill. The Council has passed the Money Lender’s which defines a money lender as a person who lends at rates exceeding fifteen per cent.
