The recent betting raids have been followed up by a batch of fifty informations being laid against Peter Grant of the well known firm of Barnett and Grant Bookmakers, charging him with breaches of Hie Gaming Act. The case 3 are to come before the Magistrate on Friday. Several well-known sports whose names appeared in the defendant's books with orders to invest on the New Zealand Cup and other races, have been summoned as witnesses.
