The Federal Tariff. Melbourne, Nov 15, In the House of Representatives fair progress was made with the Tariff. The du y on opium was increased from twenty to tnirty shillings per pounp. The Bubonic Plague. Received this day at 10 15 a m. Sydney, Nov 15. A boy living at Aunandalc has been removed to quarantine on suspicion of suffering from plague. The Colliery Explosion. The Government officials after visiting Burwood Colliery concluded that the explosion was caused by fire damp. Champion’s condition is precarious. The Gales—Nine Injured. Melbourne, Nov 15. Nine persons were injured, some ser?ously, by falling debris at Castlemaine. Several of them were rescued from the collapsed houses after the gale.
