NAPIER MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS.

(per press association.)

Napibr, November 6.

At a meeting of the Napier Borough Council this evening it was decided to accept tho terms offered by Messrs Meason and Marchant, engineers, for reporting upon the cost and practicability of lighting Napier by electricity. It was also resolved as an experiment in connection with sea bathing within certain limits to appoint a custodian to supervise children bathing, and as male and female attendants to take charge of marquees for dressing in. This is only a preliminary step towards making Napier attractive as a sea bathing and health resort. The Council has now under consideration a comprehensive scheme for the erection of large open air sea-water baths to be available in all weathers.
