Desperate Attempt to Bob a Bank. London, Nov 5.

A desperate attempt was made to rob the Kennington Park Branch of the London south-western bank. After business hours a man named Lanscombs, armed with a revolver, killed Crawley the cashier, and wounded Gooch a clerk. The latter seized Lanscombe by the throat and during a tremendous strugle, the robber shot himself dead. Army Swindlers. At Old Bailey, John Henry Ooran, J.P. of Pembroke and army contractor, and Charles E Davis, corporal in the Army Service Corps, were sentenced to eighteen months’ imprisonment for defrauding the Government.
