PAROA HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.

A crowded and interesting meeting was held in the Pnroa Schoolroom on the Ist ultimo for the purpose of devising means to ra ; se funds to assist the Grey Eiver Mr Keith occupied the chair and after some preliminary remarks on the laudable object for which the meeting was convened and other suggestions from the meeting in reference to forming a subHospital Committee the business was proceeded with-

Proposed by Mr Byrne and seconded by Mr Gilbert, that an Hospital committee be formed consisting of the Paroa School Committee and the following gentlemen, viz:—Mr Byrne, Mr Gordon, Mr Goodger, Mr Shrives, Mr Judd, Mr Gregg, Mr Weir, Mr Hudd, Mr Trickey, Mr Treager, Mr Lines, Mr Hayden, Mr E. Lawlor, and Mr Hewlet with power to add to their number.

Proposed byMrM’Gowen and seconded by Mr Perish, that Messrs Keith, Byrne, and Dowling, be appointed to tire respective positions in the order stated to Chairman; Treasurer, Secretary. Proposed by Mr Keith, and seconded by Mr Colton, that the first Hospital Committee meeting be held on Wednesday the 6tli insti Proposed by Mr Dowling and seconded bp Mr Judd, that tbe ladies of tile district be courteously invited to attend the next Hospital Committee meeting.
