Attempted Suicide. Napier, This Da}. James Burfcenshaw, an old resident of this district attempted suicide last night by cutting his throat with a razir. Ho was removed to the hospital and is expected to recover. Blind Institute Enquiry. Auckland, This Day. At the Blind Institute Enquiry Caleb Wood, one of the trustees, said he had protested against the system under \\ hich Tighe, the principal, was allowed Is per head for catering for inmates. He considered that £2OO per year could be saved on catering as Tighe had no private means. It was a fair inference that he ma'de a profit on food supplied to enable him to maintain his racehorses.
