Two large steamers, the Cloncurry outward bound to Calcutta witli a shipment of horses, and the Boveric, inward from Adelaide, eoliided at the entrance to the harbor, and both are seriously damaged. The Boveric has two large holes in the port side, one extending below the water line. The after hold rapidly- filled, the bulkheads alone preventing her sinking.

The Cloncurry’s bows are flattened on both sides to the water’s edge, and a number of plates are smashed. She made considerable water.

Both returned to the wharf and are discharging their cargoes.
