SPORTING.

(OCE OWN COERESrOSDENT)

Riccarton Training Notes, Christchurch, This Day. . Nor’-west weather still prevails here, which is very sultry. The carnival will be set going to-day by tho Metropolitan trots. The tracks at Eiccarton are still very hard and watering carts are in requisition but not of much use. Work at Eiccarton this morning was interesting. The Coast representative did his best gallop. Associated with Sirius, Kahuwai and Military he went a mile and a halt in 2 42, which goes to show that the Wisp is improving. He had 81 on his back and the outside going. He finished in front. Glenladalc pulled up lame and is an unlikely starter. Tuesday’s coach loft Otira at four this morning.
