KUMARA SINGERS AND CRITICS
(To the Editor.)
Sib. —ln a recent issue of the Kumara Times I see that it gives a very strong critic of a certain gentleman who sang at the late concert in Kumara, and winds up by saying that who ever got him to sing was only “ pulling his leg.” Now I may state that the gentleman referred to was asked to sing on the strength of a splendid critic given by the Kumara Times, on the occasion of the said gentleman’s first appearance on the stage in Kumara. I think it was at the Debating : ociety’s social, when the Kumara Times wound up in referring to that gentleman singing, by saying that he was a great acquisition to musical circles in Kumara. Now if there wSs any “ leg pulling, ” who is to blame ? I think the Kumara Times, in regard to local hits at the same concert. How often have the same occurred in Kumara, and even far more personal. It appears to me that some one wants to have a local hit at the members of tno C. B. Band, for whose benefit the concert was run. lam ttc.— One Who Was Hit.
