Riccarton Training Notes.
Christchurch, This Day. Several horses were on the course this morning, though not much fast work was attempted. Rain badly needed. The course proper being watered. Glenoglc did a good mile on the plough in 1. 45. Military beat Calibre and Peerage, a half mile 48 3-5. Pampero was too good for Ayrdale over a strongly run five furlongs. Dundas alone did six furlongs in Imin 17sec in good style. Djin Djin with Windwbistle ran a mile and a half on the plough in 2min 42 3-5 secs. The Cup candidate is going well, Fulmen and Will-o'-ihc wisp went once round the last four furlongs in 53. Melwood went once round in 2 44, the last mile in 1 54. Nearly all the other horses present were given slow to three quarters pace work. Several two year olds sprinted two or three furlongs.
