A PECULIAR POSITION.

Beceived this day at 10 10 a m. Sydney. Oct 26. An extraordinary position has been revealed by the full court.
Under the Federal constitution the Post and Telegraph Department is vested in the Federation. A man was charged with stealing a letter, but the point taken up was that the crime bad been committed against the Federal Department, the Sate having no jurisdiction. Counsel agreed that the difficulty arose through the failure of the Federal Parlioment to pass a Judiciary Act, immediately it had acquired jurisdiction over what had been State property. Argument was adjourned for a week,
