BOER WIFE'S COMMANDMENTS.
A North Island returned trooper has in his.possession an interesting document found in.a house which he ransacked. It was written by a Boer woman, who apparently ruled her husband with a rod of iron. These were her commandments:
1. Thou shalt not have another wife but me.
2. Thou shalt not take the name of thy wife in vain.
3. Eemember to keep her respectably. 4. Honor thy wife's father and thy wife's mother. 5. Thou shalt not scold. 6. Thou shalt not find fault with thy dinner.
7. Thou shalt rock the cradle in my absence, and prepare tea for my return. 8. Thou shalt not be behind thy neighbours. 9. Thou shalt not covet the rum tavern nor the tavernkeeper's rum, nor his brandy, nor his gin, nor his whisky, nor his wine, nor anything that is behind the bar of the rum-seller. 10. Thou shalt not visit the billiardsaloon neither for the worshipping iu the dance, nor the heaps of money that lie on the table.
' 11. Thou shalt not remain out after ten o'clock.
