At the Newmarket Second October meeting the Middle Park Plate resulted as follows Minstad 1 Charapos 2 Port Blair 3

Caulfield Races. -Third Day. Melbourne, October 19. There was fine weather and a large attendance on the concluding day of the Caulfield meeting. The results arc : Moora Trial—Felicitous 1, Attitude 2, Pusileito 3. Seven started. Betting evens on Felicitous, who won easily by a length. Time, 1 455. Oby Huddles. Tatter Wallop 1, Plymton (late Report) Rickshaw 3. 15 started. Betting 9 to 2 agninst Tatter Wallop, who won easily, Time 47. CAULFIELD CUP.

Hymettus ... 1 Wakeful 2 Flagship 3 All the acceptors started except Rock Gun. Betting 7to 2 Wakeful, 9 to 2 Hymettus. Wakeful, Bonnie Chiel, Hymettus, and Blunderer were in the van most of the way and as the field turned into the straight the order was Wakeful, Hymettus, Blunderer, Caledonia, Flagship, and Bonnie Chiel. The latter was soon done with. At the distance Hymetfus challenged Wakeful and a great struggle ensued, Hymettus winning on the post by half a head, Flagship a length away, Caledonia fourth. Time 3 354, which is a record for the race. Wynna Steeplechase—Reynaldo 1, Excelsior 2. Aloha 8. 13 started. Betting —3 to 1 Orthez, 10 to 1 the winaer. Won by three lengths. Time, 4 44. Gwyn Nursery—Troubridge 1, Great Scot 2, Homeward Bound 3, 28 started. Betting—3 to 1 Fishery, 12 to 1 tho winner. A good race. Won by a neck. Time, 57i secs.

An accident happened, Latchkey, Fishery and Cantata coming down. Ross, the rider of Latchkey, was cut on the head.

Allan, who fell on Orthoz in the Steeplechase, sustained concussion of the brain.

Windsor Handicap—Manlock 1, Wairiri 2, Fortune Teller 3. 27 started. Batting - 4 to 1 Lady Grafton, 6 to 1 Manlock. A good ra:e, won by a head. Time, 1 16|
