Lord Roberta at the Mansion House, in response to the toast, “Imperial forces” doubted if ever an army was more severely tried than during the last two years. Ho was most deeply indebted to the very material help of the Colonials who exhibited extraordinary intelligence, perseverance and determination, underg ing groat hardships and privations without murmur, and doing everything chcc.fuily and in a soldierly manner.
