THE ESTIMATES SITTING.
Thirty-five hours Continuous.
(OUR PARLIAMENTARY REPORTER.)
Wellington, October 17.
After a continuous sitting of thirty-five hours the House rose at 1 35 on Thursday morning, after passing the remainder of the general estimates. Tliis brings the end of the session within measureable distance.
Notwithstanding the efforts of the critics of the Government none of the votes of any of the Departments were reduced with the solitary exception of the item “ fees to members of Waste Lands Boards ” which was cut down by two pounds as an indication that members of Parliament should not be appointed to these Land Boards. The motion was proposed by the member for Waihomo and supported by the Premier.
