At tho Harbour Board to-day it was announced that the E shed at the root of the breakwater had been gazetted a customs examination shed. The Committee resolved to slighly alter the tariff rates by making horse boxes (empty) Is 6d each and adding on the following ballast, stone, shingles and rubble, etc, Is per ton in or out. Coal carg )oa in bulk landed are shipped at tho breakwater, haulage of 3d per ton. consignee to supply railway trucks and all such coal to be weighed on the board’s weighbridge. The minimum charge in such cases is £2 between the hours of 9 a m and 5 p m., overtime rates to be paid outside of these hours.
