COLONEL FENTON’S FAREWELL

(per press association.)

Wellington This Day,

Colonel Pcnton, in his farewell general order, thanks all members of the New Zealand force for the cordial support given him while he held command. He impresses on them the need of maintaining a high state of discipline, and perfecting themselves in judging distance in shooting at unknown ranges, and at disappearing, and concealed targets, and in doing their work, as far as possible, out of doors, fie hoped that the progress of the forces evinced during his command may long continue.
