THE RENNICK SHOOTING CASE.
(PEE PEESS ASSOCIATION.)
Dunedin, October 14.
It appears that Mrs. Pearce quarrelled with Mrs, Rennick, and not being able to eject her took down a six chambered revolver, which she obtained during a burglar scare, and fired one chamber. The bullet struck Mrs. Rennick in the face, emerging near the angle of the jaw. A neighbour named Russell rushed in and disarmed Mrs. Pearce and removed Rennick to the hospital. Mrs. Pearce also threw scalding water over Rennick’s mother who did not actively participate in the quarrel. Rennick is not severely injured, but her mother is considerably scalded about the face.
When arrested Mrs. Pearce, who was quite cool, said; “I’m not going to be skull dragged by these women. I would serve anyone else the same who interfered with her.”
