NOTES FROM AHAURA.
(ODE OWN' CORRESPONDENT). The influenza is still making ravages at Abaura ; both young and old being prostrated. Our worthy Constable Donovan has just recovered from a severe attack. On Sunday the Abaura folk were treated to some music by the Blackball Brass Band, which arrived in the township about noon, and discoursed sweet musio till about five o’clock when it left by coach for home. The members of the baud seemed to thoroughly enjoy their outing.
I hear that the Orwell Creek dredge will make a start to-morrow. The wash in this claim is in some places 60 feet deep, and if the dredge has only enough power the returns should be very substantial ones.
Good progress is being made with the construction of the Ahaura-Moonligbt road, which when completed will be a great boon to residents.
