The Times Simla correspondent reports from the frontier shows that everything is quiet in Afghaoistan.

The new Ameer Habibullah, in a letter announcing his accession informs Lord Curzoa that he will follow his father’s footsteps, and hopes that the friendship of the Governments of Afghanistan and India will continuously increase.

The Daily Telegraph stales that Russian official advices from Bokhara allege that Habibuilah’s brothers, a few hours prior to the proclamations of his accession secretly left Kabul accompanied by their partisans. , Habibullah, in consequence of their action, has surrounded himself with trustworthy troops and sent strong detachments to guard the main roads and prevent their return unless as prisoners.
