THE BRUNNER WIDOWS’ FUND

(OUE OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Wellington, This Day. In the cases of Madames Moore, Robinson and Davis v. Public Trustee, the Chief Justice delivered judgment on Saturday. Mr Guinness appeared for plaintiffs and Mr Hislop for defendant. His Honor held that defendant could after consulting the Advisory Board discontinue the weekly allowances to widow’s, who remarry. In these cases he held that although allowances were stopped at marriage of each plaintiff yet defendant was not justified in stopping same because defendant had not consulted the Board until the 28oh February 1901. He found that Moore was entitled to recover J69118s 3d ; Davis JG26 4s and Robinson j£ls Bs. He gave judgment accordingly' for these amounts and £22 10s counsels fees and disbursements.
