The Robbers Miss a Fine Haul.

(pee press association.)

Mangaweka, This Day. Information has been received here that Barnes, agent of the Bank of New Zealand, when returning from Mangaonoko to Hnnterville after the weekly opening of the bank here yesterday, was stuck up by some unknown persons, and had his horse shot. The wound did not take effect for some time and a further shot was fired without hitting and Barnes escaped. The haul would have totalled £1,500 in notes and cash.
