SUDDEN DEATH OF ROBERT M'NEILL.
We much regret to learn of the sudden death of Robert M‘Neill, the well known farmer of Totara Flat, which took place about mid-day. Through the courtesy of Dr. Morice we are enabled to supply the following particulars. Shortly after noon to-day the following message was received j—“ Dr Morice, Greymouth, —Father fell down with serious pain, put hands to his head, and when I caught him he said, ‘ I feel like dying,’ Much vomiting; unconscious. Sent for Campbell, but could not get h : m. A man wired for Coalon at once; wire you later. —M‘Neh.l.”
An hour later a further telegram notifying his death was received as follows : —“ Dr. Morice, Greymouth. Father died at 2 20 ; never regained consciousness. What cause you think. — M'Neill.” The deceased was one of tho pioneer farmers in the Grey Valley, and a man of sterling worth. General sympathy will be felt for his family in their breavement.
