WESTLAND RACING CLUB.
At a meeting of the Westland Racing" Club, a letter was read from the secretary of the New Zealand Racing Conference approving of the dates selected fot the autumn meeting. The draft programme according to the West Coast Times for the midsummer meeting (January 3rd and 4th) was adopted, the stakes aggregating £470. The following are the events:— First day: Stafford Handicap, 7 furlongs, £2O; Steward’s Handicap, 1 mile, £3O; Handicap Hurdles, If miles, £4O; Westland Handicap, If miles, £6O; KanioriTrot (saddle) 2 miles, £25 ; Goldsborough Handicap, Imile £25 Plying Handicap, 6 furlongs, £3O. Second day: Town Plate, 7 furlongs, £25; Telegraph stakes, 6 furlongs, £80; Hurdle Handicap, If, £4O ; Hokitika Handicap, 9 furlongs, £SO ; Rimu Trot (saddle) 2 miles, £25 ; Auctions Handicap, 7 furlongs, £4O ; Final cap, 1 mile, £25. It was decided to_ out two dividends on the totalisator mjall cases where four or more horses of separate interest start.
