Wellington, This Day.

The Union and Northern Companies agree to the request of the Railway Department for daily steamers between Onehnnga and New Plymouth to connect with the proposed daily express train service.

The new steamer arrangement will not, however, start till the Ist December.

The Companies will give the new system a trial for the summer months.

The Union Company, however, cannot see its way to detain its WellingtonLyttelton steamers in Wellington to connect with express trains.
