REVIEW OF REVIEWS VOTE.
[Peb Psess Association.
Received this day at 10 55Ja.m. SvtosßY, This Day. Fitchett in a letter to the Daily Telegraph, explains that the article in the Review of Review was one of a series designed to give a picture of each of the great Australasian settlements at the beginning of the new century. New Zealand came third on the list. As very considerable expense was attached to many of the illustrations which accompanied the article, the New Zealand Government was asked to take a certain number of copies for distribution in England and elsewhere, on the grounds that the article would be of public service to New Zealand. Seddon expressed no wish whatever as to the character of the article, and never saw a lino till it was Filchett secured the Rev. Joseph Berry,’ of Adelaide, whom he considered' the best possible writer on the subject, and gave him an entirely free hand. He adds that nothing could be more straight forward and businesslike than the manner in which Mr Seddon carried through the transaction with the Review. He claims that the article was a sober and absolutely reliable account of the resources and prospects of one of richest and moat flourishing provinces in the Empire.
