Wanganui, Oct. 2.
At the Supreme Court to-day, a man named Paterson was sentenced to nine months on five charges of forgery. Connel was admitted to probation on two charges of forgery. Buckman was found guilty of fraudulent preference to creditors. Judgement was reserved.
In the case of James M’Carr charged with assaulting Andrew Horne at Mangaweka, the jury disagreed. New Plymouth, Oct. 2.
At the Supreme Court true bills were returned against James Ireland for theft; Sheriff and Lowe for breaking and entering ; John Cunliffe Greeks, arson; Thomas Payne, arson and attempted arson; Allan Clcaland, breaking and entering; and Ching Queo, forgery.
For the theft of a watch, James Ireland was found guilty and sentenced to two years ; on a charge of breaking and entering, Sheriff and Lowe were acquitted.
