Auckland, September 30. Among the passengers by the Sonoma was Mr Loud, Chairman of the Postal Committee of the United States House of Representatives. He confcrml here with Mr Withcfoid re a mail service reciprocity.
Mr Loud expressed the opl ion that a reciprocal tarrifi: might be arranged with this colony to include such as wool, flax, and certain agricultural products. At the present time "there were several similar treaties waiting the consideration of Congress. He suggested that Government should send a delegate to IV ashington during the next sitting of Congress, and"promised to do all he conld to further a mutually advantageous arrangement. His visit to Australia having greatly impressed him with the trade possibilities of these colonics.
