THE GREY COUNTY COUNCIL.

(To the Editor.)

Sib,—l notice a par in the Canterbury Times of Sept 4th taking the Defence Department to task os having put up a record for neglect. Well. Sir, I wish to state right here that our County Council can "ee them, and go one better. The Volunteers have been kept waiting for their pay for two months. Our County would consider that a mere Bagatelli, the Council don’t reckon time by months, hut years. The Times thinks that some of the officials require waking up; this would apply with singular force to cur Council. Thanking you in anticipation, I remain yours— Sinbad. Blackball, Sept. 29th.
