Magnetic Healer in Trouble.
Dunedin, September 26
At the Police Court Peroival Commins was charged with that, on September 20, at Dunedin be did wilfully and falsely use the title of Doctor, implying that he was recognised by law as a practitioner in medicine. For the defence it was alledged that defendant was a philanthropist, who did not charge for advice and sold medicine at cost price ; but as 75 per cent of those he treated were not able to pay a penny he gave it away. Ho claimed to be a magnetic healer and claimed the title of Doctor because he was a teacher of the truth, Mr Graham, S.M., had doubts
whether the plates with “ Dr ” and hours of attendance were not calculated to de* ceive. He however dismissed the case on its merits.
