The New Zealand Government schooner Countess of Eanfurly arrived at Baratonga on September 2nd after a three weeks’ passage. She called at Kermadecs but found no trace of the missing shooners Maungaroa or Linda Weber. Oa arrival the crew struck for increased pay but an Ariki lent the crew of another vessel to enable the schooner to proceed to Aitutaki where they hoped a new crew would be available.
