NEW ZEALAND TELEGRAMS.

(per press association.)

Delaying Pratique. , Wellington, September 20.

The hearing of evidence in connection with the complaints concerning the delay ot the health officer in granting partique to the Monowai from Sydney, concluded to-day before Mr Haselden, Commissioner.

In his evidence the health officer for the port attributed his action in leaving the vessel before granting clearance to the fact that one of the passengers had refused to come on deck after being sent for. He thought it necessary to take such a step in order to convince the ship officers that it was their duty to produce every person on board.
