The youth Tracy missing since Wednesday from his home on the Christchurch road was found in a wretched plight in, the bush, early on Saturday morning: about a mile from Fitzgerald Bros., homestead. The unfortunate young fellc'w when found was minus hoots and hat and had been without food the whola time.

Mr. Clark, the President of our Debating Society, received word by wire last evening that the speakers chose for the debate with our local club which was to have taken place to-night are unable to come owing to illness. The debate is in consequence postponed until October 2nd. Members will please note this. Word reached town yesterday morning of the death of Mrs. Bradley of Denniston. Deceased was the only child of Mr. and Mrs, Steel, of Cemetry Hill, for whom widespread sympathy is felt. All are well known in this district and highly respected.

We are to be favour ed with a visit from the Hokitika Dramatic Club on Wednesday night, They appeared in “ Time and the Hour," The individual and collective ability of the members of this Club as evinced on former occasions will prove a sufficient passport to popular fovour in their coming visit. Tins with the fact that the performance is given in. aid of onr local hospital is bound to ensure a bumper house.
