The Colliery Explosion
London, September 12. Seven were killed at the Llanbrach colliery disaster and eight injured.

Fangeron, a Frenchman, has been committed at Clerkenwell on a charge of murdering one Jung, a Swiss jeweller. The prisoner alleges that Jung, representing a secret society, offered him money to stab Mr Chamberlain for causing the African war and much misery. The bribe was rejected. The return of the moneys previously given by Jung to relieve him in his distress was demanded. A scuffle ensued, and he killed Jung unintentionally in self defence.
