Milburn one of the firsts lawyers in the State, at whose house M’Einley is lying, declares that the misdeed was the result of conspiracy. All conspirators according to the judgment in the case of “ People versus Spies ” otherwise known as the Chicago anarchists case are equally guilty. Hence the authorities are indicting members of the Cleveland Anarchist Society whereof Czolgosy was a member, including Goldman whose incendiary speech was found on the assassins person.
Mr M'Einley this morning changed his position in bed without aid, without difficulty and without pain, taking milk and eggs as nourishment, added to water injections.
The cooler weafher that has set in favors his chances. An official bulletin at 3 o’clock this afternoon says that he is steadily improving add is comfortable without pain and no unfavorable symptoms are discernible. His pulse is 113, temperature 101, respiration 26.
The Cabinet have unanimously decided that the prosecution of Czolgosz will be treated purely as a local affair. This course will prevent the would-be assassin being made a hero by the exploitation of any of his accomplices. He will be puniahed, but the adoption of wholesale measures against Anarchists is not intended.
In the interests of his own safety, Czolgosz is confined in an underground dungeon.
Dr M'G-umoy considers that a complication is possible for a week yet. Only then will he be able to say that the patient is out of danger. King Edward’s message expressed the warmest good wishes and the most earnest hopes for Mr McKinley’s recovery. The European representatives of the Fillipinos sent a sympathetic message. ' Goldman was arrested in Chicago. Two of her male Anarchist friends were arrested at Pittsburg.'
