MAORI SONGSTERS.
The above gifted company (says the Westport News), under the direction 6f Ensign Armstrong, met with a, very favorable reception at the Victoria Theatre last Thursday. Severe! additions have been made to the Company , since their last visit to Westport,, and these contributed welcome items last • night. Ensign Armstrong led the way with speech and song, and Captain Stirling aroused the sympathies of the audience by her whole-hearted, full- ) souled enthusiasm. But among the most welcome of some excellent items were those , given by Kittie Goodwill, a little Maori lass, with a surprisingly full; rich, sympathetic voice. The audience accorded her an , enthusiastic encore. Others who took part in the songs, hakas or poi games were Lieuts. Hodge, M‘Carthy, Cadet, Fraser, Mrs Pourmati, Misses Butt, Mogtidge, and Nehu. This clever Company •, i will appear in the Greymouth Opera House on Sunday and Monday next, when no doubt they will receive a real West Coast reception.
